With this guided-inquiry kit, students explore radioactive decay, half-life, archeological dating, radioisotopes, and how and where radiation is found in their everyday lives. 
Students plot and determine the half-life of a simulated radioactive element. 
They then model half-life determination methods, observe the vapor trails of radiation passing through a cloud chamber, and estimate their annual radiation exposure. 
Finally, students practice dating an organic artifact by studying the decay of a simulated radioisotope. 
Write nuclear equations for spontaneous nuclear decay and induced nuclear reactions.
Measure half-life using a unique apparatus.
Develop models to illustrate the changes in the composition of the nucleus and the energy released during the processes of fission, fusion, and radioactive decay.
